Over 170,000 visitors to this year's Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics will be able to have their faces scanned and recreated on the facade of a building as part of an installation by London designer& Asif Khan.
We're excited to share this video of our recent 1000 actuator test which forms one-tenth of the full colour kinetic building facade designed by Asif Khan and incorporated into his pavilion for the Russian telecom operator MegaFon at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. The building facade is being developed and realised by the Swiss company iart. It is a lit, moving sculpture which will be able to change shape and display physical portraits of visitors of the Olympic Park and sports fans from all over Russia (opening 7 February 2014).
